1. The Jat Regiment is an infantry regiment of the Indian Army and is one of the longest serving and most decorated regiments of the Indian Army.

2. The regiment has won 41 battle honours between 1839 to 1947 and post independence 9 battle honours,10 Unit Citations, 2 Victoria Crosses,4 Indian Order of Merits,2 George Crosses, 3 Ashok Chakras, 10 Mahavir Chakras, 8 Kirti Chakras, 35 Shaurya Chakras, 40 Vir Chakras and 170 Sena Medals.

3. its serve the country over 200 years (i'm very proud of this.).

4. The battle cry, adopted in 1955, in Hindi, is जाट बलवान, जय भगवान (IAST: Jāt Balwān, Jai Bhagwān), which means "The Jat is Powerful, Victory Be to God!".

5. The Jat Regiment's class composition mostly consists of Hindu Jatts and sikh jatts from Western Uttar Pradesh,punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi except for 3 Battalions whose ethnic make-up is as follows.

6. Currently the regiment has a strength of 34 battalions.

7. Capt. Anuj r was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra during the Kargil Conflict. He was an officer from the 17th battalion JAT Regt.

8. Jat Rejiments has two Victoria Cross winners.

9. A large number of gallantry awards were won including a Victoria Cross and two George Crosses.
